Nicky van Zon
Nicky joined Moonen Yachts in 2008 as Assistant Project Manager after finishing his naval architecture studies. He was promoted to Project Manager in 2014, followed by a more recent 2020 promotion to his current position of Technical Director.
Involved in all Moonen projects that were built in the last decade, Nicky acquired an invaluable technical knowledge and expertise in managing projects effectively from concept through to completion.
During his childhood you could always find him on the water sailing dinghies or in his father’s workshop busy with maintenance, refits or building a new boat himself. Nowadays, Nicky is an enthusiastic competition sailor in several classes including J22, Dragon and Soling. He also enjoys sailing for leisure with friends on the Dutch waters and has completed an ocean crossing from Africa to Brazil.
Did you know: Nicky owns five pairs of wooden clogs and can often be seen wearing them on special occasions!
Victor Caminada
Now Commercial Director, Victor joined Moonen in September 2021 as our Head of Sales and brings with him over 25 years of commercial experience in the yachting industry. He has a sound technical knowledge of yacht building based on his maritime engineering degree from Solent University, two Business degrees as well as practical experience as a superyacht broker.
Climbing on board yachts before he could walk or talk and with over 40,000 miles of worldwide cruising and racing experience, Victor has gained a good understanding of the requirements of owners and their crew. Armed with this know-how and inspiring enthusiasm, he and his team are incredibly capable in guiding our clients toward their ideal Moonen yacht, perfectly suited to their needs.
Most weekends and holidays you can find Victor and his family out on the water cruising or racing. In the winter season he loves ice skating and skiing, mountain biking and hiking, living up to his motto of “Get Outdoors”.
Did you know: Victor has sailed his own boat from Holland to Greece and has lived in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain.
Getty Kok
Getty began her career at Moonen Yachts when the company started in 1981, as Secretary to the Director. She is now responsible for HR and is also Head of the Financial Department. A key member of the Moonen team for over 40 years, she enjoys her role thanks to the high level of contact she has with each employee.
In her free time, Getty enjoys dinner parties with friends and loves to read a good book, travel and enjoy time with her two wonderful sons.
Did you know: Getty is a regular golfer and loves to play on the most beautiful courses whenever she can.
Cornee de Bruin
Cornee has had a passion for the maritime industry from an early age, which is why he initially began working in the yacht building industry straight after school.
He started at Moonen more then 20 years ago as an apprentice mechanic. After building his skill set to become an all-round mechanic, Cornee went on to become Head of the Mechanics Department, the position he proudly holds today. With his hands-on approach and same-team, positive attitude, he’s also no stranger to putting on his overalls to complete Customer Care jobs.
As a hobby, Cornee likes to spend time on the water on his own boat, which he takes much pride in maintaining regularly.
Did you know: Cornee’s alter ego is Tum the bartender. He runs his own bar at home and the house drink is called the ‘Tum Twister’!
Jos van Dongen
Jos has been a valued member of the Moonen Yachts team for over 25 years. Beginning his career at Moonen as an apprentice in 1995, Jos later moved into the Engineering Department. Today he is Head of the Interior Department, responsible for the complete installation of the yacht interior, as well as the subcontracting of marble, glass, upholstery, teak decking and exterior furniture, amongst other items.
As a team player, Jos likes to be on top of every detail from start to finish to ensure projects run smoothly. He likes to say that working in the yachting industry is “carpentry at an Olympic level”. That explains why he loves it so much.
In his free time, Jos can be found on the water in summer and in the winter skiing in the hills or dining at one of the many wonderful restaurants around ’s-Hertogenbosch.
Did you know: Jos likes to live life on the edge! He has skiied down one of the highest peaks in Europe, starting at 4500m and it was full speed to the bottom!
Martijn Veldhuijzen
At a young age, Martijn began his career as an apprentice furniture maker. After several years, he became interested in CAD software and CNC technology, which led to years of self-study and evening school working as a CNC operator. He then made the final switch to engineering, which is where his true passion lies.
In 2007 Martijn joined Moonen as part of the engineering team. After taking a short break in 2017, he returned to the company in 2019 to resume his much loved position, in a team of which he is incredibly proud to be a part of.
In his spare time, Martijn enjoys building his own boat and loves nature photography, fast cars and skiing in winter.
Did you know: Martijn built his first boat at the age of 12.
Noël de Keijzer
Noël joined Moonen in 2021 as Design and Proposal Engineer. In this role he is actively involved in contributing to the sales process, mainly focusing on the technical side of a proposal. In addition to this, Noël is responsible for developing new and innovative ideas and designs for the yard and its fleet.
Having graduated in 2013 as a Naval Architect BSc in Rotterdam, Noël has gained a broad experience over the years in ship design within different design and proposal positions in the maritime industry.
In his time off, Noël loves to participate in all kinds of outdoor activities such as conquering a challenging mountain bike track or going out for a run. To counterbalance his sporty side, Noël loves to go out for dinner with family and friends and visit music festivals.
Did you know: Noël has hiked up an active volcano in Indonesia, sky dived and bungee jumped in the Netherlands and hiked through Yosemite National Park.
Femke Verheijen
Femke has a background in web and graphic design, sales and event planning. In 2014 she joined Moonen Yachts and through the years she has gained various skills within the industry, which helped her to grow in her role.
As Marketing Coordinator & Sales Support, Femke is responsible for all aspects of our company’s Marketing operations and supports the Sales department. The highlight of her position is that she plays a key role in engaging and inspiring our clients on a daily basis.
In her free time, Femke loves to spend time on the water and in the sun – the hotter the better! If it’s not so sunny, you can find her in the kitchen creating a delicious new meal.
Did you know: Femke has a shoe obsession. She has over 80 pairs and stores them all in their original boxes!
John Bechtold
In his role as Project Manager, John utilises his skills to identify and extract the knowledge and strengths of each team member working on a project. He ensures that the power of the team is at its strongest – not only Moonen’s own employees, but also the employees of our subcontractors. Together they make the project a success.
In addition to working at Moonen, John likes to spend quality time with his family and friends over dinner, or go out for a drink with them. As a lover of football, you’ll find John at his local football club three days a week, where he enjoys transferring his knowledge and enthusiasm of the beautiful game to the newest generation.
Did you know: John is a father of two beautiful boys!
Ian Vermoen
Ian joined Moonen in 2016 as Assistant Project Manager after graduating as a naval architect. In this role, he supported new build projects and would often fill the role of Project Manager on several refit projects.
In 2019 Ian was promoted to Project Manager for new build projects. As Project Manager Ian is responsible for not only making sure the projects are built on time and within budget, but also ensuring that, along with the whole Moonen team, the yachts are built to the standard and quality that Moonen is renowned for.
In his free time, he likes ride one of his motorcycles, or make sure they are in excellent condition for his yearly motor holiday trip with his father, looking for the very best twisty roads in Europe!
Did you know: Ian had his first sailing lesson when he was three months old! Ever since then, he has been on month-long sailing trips every year.
Roger Kuijpers
After first working with Moonen Yachts as a Senior Purchaser between 2006-2012, we are thrilled Roger re-joined the Moonen team in April 2021 to begin his second term.
Together with his partner Renate and his son Ties, Roger enjoys home life living in Udenhout with their two fluffy cats, who also live in (but some say run) the house, making his family complete.
Roger enjoys all sports, but prefers to watch them on television. Constructing his own outdoor lounge in his garden means he gets his necessary gym workout in.
In his spare time Roger loves to enjoy the “Bourgondische lifestyle” (great food and drinks), together with his neighbours and friends. If you like good food, let Roger do the cooking! His Sushi is highly recommended! Roger’s motto is “Work when it is necessary, but don’t forget to relax afterwards”.
Did you know: Roger loves to know everything about historical timelines and reads about history everyday!
Richard Verboom
Richard joined Moonen in 1981 and has served various roles within the company. As Senior Purchaser he is responsible for technical/office purchasing and of course all project-related purchasing.
With a keen eye for details, Richard is a powerful force in the workplace and uses his bias for action to encourage others to work hard and succeed. In his free time, Richard likes to watch sports (football and Formula 1) and enjoys spending time with his (grand)child(ren).
Did you know: Richard spends most weekends city-hopping and exploring new cities. He has a knack for finding the very best shopping in each of them. Shop till you drop!
