Yearly, our industry feels a sea change as the pleasant summer is replaced by exciting fall boat shows. This will be as exciting a season as ever, as the Shipyard and its Brokerage will exhibit in Cannes, Monaco, and Fort Lauderdale at our indoor stand. And we will have our latest launch, the first Moonen 97 Darsea, moored for viewing in the water. Contact us to arrange an appointment or drop by at the show. To learn more click here. |

We have launched Darsea, the first of two Moonen 97s that begin a new Displacement series. The Moonen 97, an evolution of our 96, is drawn by René van der Velden with naval architecture by Diana. She has a four-stateroom layout expanded from our popular Moonen 84, with enlarged luxury and crew accommodations, added stowage, and transatlantic fuel capacity. Built to Lloyd’s and MCA specification, |

Moonen has expanded to an annex in Groot-Ammers, about 30 km east of central Rotterdam. We are using its 63-metre hall, along the Lek River, to build yachts up to 45 metres and to perform large-yacht refits. Our initial Groot-Ammers project is completion of the 37.80-metre Moonen 124 Displacement yacht, Snow White, which we began in ’s-Hertogenbosch. At her spring 2009 launch she will be the largest of Moonen’s fleet of pocket-size superyachts. To read more click here. |

On 3 May the hull and superstructure of our first 37.80 metre Moonen 124 were transported to our Groot-Ammers annex. The transport of the two massive sections was very impressive to local folk in the flat Dutch countryside. Once both sections were in |

In April we delivered Amphitrite, the eighth in our Moonen 84 series. Shaped by René van der Velden Design over a hull by naval architects Stolk Marimecs, Amphitrite has Caterpillar diesels and Kohler gensets, a Lloyd’s-approved oil/water separator, electric sliding doors to her afterdeck, and twin searchlights with a |

In a refit of the fifth Moonen 85 Moonshadow Noa (ex Moon Shadow: 1991) we installed a completely new sun deck, renewed all teak decks, raised the bulwarks, upgraded security, sealed opening ports, and repainted her dark blue. We modified the mast for SatCom and Wi-fi antennas, and overhauled passerelle, swim platform, stabilizers, shafts, rudders, engines, gensets, and exhausts. We updated navigation, monitoring and intercom and changed pneumatic functions to electric. To learn more click here. |
