Etoile d'azur 2013

Moonen completes refit of Etoile d’Azur

Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands has successfully completed a refit of the Moonen 84 Etoile d’Azur. Launched in 2007, this 26.25-metre motoryacht is still in the hands of her original owner. Delighted with the results of the project, he has now taken Etoile d’Azur on an extensive cruise of the Scandinavia region.

One of the main aspects of the refit was an extension of the flybridge aft. This now serves as a cover for the main deck aft, creating even more shading for alfresco dining in this area. The enhanced flybridge deck space also facilitates the owner’s desire to carry more water sport toys onboard Etoile d’Azur, including scooters, in addition to the current tenders and jet ski.

The refit also involved a comprehensive paint job and the installation of an electrical zero speed stabilisation system. First deployed on the new fast displacement Moonen My Way in 2012, the system requires half the power of its hydraulic zero-speed alternative. Moreover, considerable cost savings are on offer as no synchronisation is required.

Last but not least, the dedicated Moonen Refits team made a range of cosmetic changes to Etoile d’Azur’s interior and systems while the electrics were updated as and where required.
