The owner of BN 160 came to us during the Düsseldorf Boatshow of 1999 asking us whether we could lengthen his yacht. He and his family had only one comment regarding their Moonen yacht, she was short of one full guest cabin. After careful planning it was decided to do the job in the wintertime, in order not to miss the pleasures of the sailing season. The yacht sailed from Lignano, near Venice, to our yard on her own keel in October 1999. At first, the complete transom section was removed in parts.
After lengthening the bottom, hull and bulwark, the majority of the removed parts were used to rebuild the transom section. Our experienced crew meanwhile prefabricated the new guest cabin with bathroom. After successful sea-trials the yacht arrived at her homeport by the end of May 2000, in time for yet another enjoyable sailing season.
